In his quest to complement the Free Quality Education Project across the country, the Chief Executive officer of the National Public Procurement Authority, Ibrahim Brima Swarray who doubles as the National President for the Ibrahim Brima Swarray’s Foundation through his foundation boosted the Government Secondary School Kenema with consignments of building materials at the school compound on Wednesday 19th April 2023.
The Chief Executive Officer noted that though he did not attend Government Secondary School Kenema, he is concerned about the deteriorating situation of any government school because he as well attended a similar government secondary school in Bo.
He said that his zeal and zest in actualizing the FQE Project does not only limit to the supply of learning materials as well as providing scholarships to less privileged and disabled students but assisting schools in terms of improving on their facelift is equally being captured in some of the key mandates that his foundation normally undertakes.
Presenting those building materials, NPPA Boss commended the administration and staff for their tremendous efforts in imparting knowledge to the pupils; also contributing to nation-building. He added that Sierra Leone will only be a better place to leave when each and every Sierra Leonean is educated.
“I am quite aware of the bottlenecks that government schools across the country face in terms of refurbishing some of the edifices. However, I believe that some of these problems will be solved concurrently. The Bio-led Administration is apparently determined to make education a priority to every child despite your region, ethnicity and gender”, he said.
It is a gradual process and as time progresses; some of those bottlenecks will be surmounted, as teachers kindly do your level best because the future of Sierra Leone entire rests on your shoulders in a bid to ensure that education becomes viable “Chief executive Admonished teachers.
Principal Mansaray applauded NPPA Boss and his team for timely responding to their demands due to the deteriorating situation of some sections of the school. He added that the gestures of Chief Swarray are not a surprise; adding that he is one of the very few appointees under the current dispensation who extends humanitarian services to his people. The principal assured CE and his team that the consignments will be used accordingly.
