The November Criminal Session of the High Court of the Republic of Sierra Leone has commenced sitting at the Pujehun Judiciary District, Presided over by his lordship Justice Abu Bakar Sannoh with 18 cases ranging from sexual penetration, rape, larceny of cattle conspiracy, store breaking and larceny, wounding with intent robbery, burglary and Larceny among others.
Testifying in court, Ibrahim Bendu ‘Alias 104’ was before the Judge for the offence of wounding with intent contrary to section 18 of the offence against the persons act of 1861 who maliciously wounded Mohamed Foray Kawa at Pujehun Malahyn Lorry Park with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.
He was found guilty and was sentenced to six years imprisonment effective from the first day of arrest.
Murana Kemokai formally of old council road Pujehun was charged with the offence of house breaking and Larceny contrary to section 26 subsection one of the larceny act of 1916 and pleaded guilty.
The accuse was sentenced to ten years imprisonment.
However, Yankuba Bundu a Taylor by profession was also before the Judge for the offence of Larceny of cattle contrary to section three of the Larceny act of 1916 and was found guilty and sentenced to two years imprisonment.
Hassan Sheriff a resident of Hill Station in Pujehun also appeared before the Judge for the offence of store breaking and Larceny. According to the particulars of offence, the convict entered the store of one Abu Bakar Mansaray at Kamala road and stole building materials worth Millions of Leones and was guilty and sentenced to two years imprisonment , Lahai Rogers a commercial Motor Bike rider of Mokenge village Kpanga Chiefdom was also before the Judge for the offence of house breaking and larceny and pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years imprisonment.
Meanwhile, Jack John Harris of legal Aid Board represented the accused persons whiles M. Sheku represented the state.
