Notorious fraudster granted bail

42yrs old Mustapha Daramy  last weekend made another appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on one count charge to wit Obtaining money by false pretenses contrary to section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offence on diverse dates between January and March 2018 in Freetown the accused Mustapha Daramy with intent to defraud obtained money from Mohamed Sidique Fofanah the total sum of six thousand two hundred and fifty united States dollars(6,250,00) equivalent to sixty two million five hundred thousand Leones (62,500,000) by falsely pretending that he would facilitate the movement of his relatives Ibrahim Fofanah and Fatmata Yansaneh to Dubai, knowing the same to be false.

Magistrate Sahr Kekura granted the accused person bail in the sum of One hundred million Leones or two sureties in like sum the sureties must be elderly and responsible citizens One of the sureties should be an employee from a recognized institution the surety should produce his/her employment letter or NASSIT identity card and the other should be resident in Freetown and also produce his/her identity card depicting his/her address in Freetown to be approved by the Deputy Acting Registrar.

ASP Aminatu Daboh is prosecuting the matter and has been adjourned to the 12th October 2021.
