The National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone has on Saturday the 23rd October 2021 climaxed the Queen Baton Relay in the Streets of Freetown.
The 16th Official Queens Baton arrived in Freetown on Friday from England; the XXII Commonwealth Games will be hosted in Birmingham City in England 2022 with lot of events for the Commonwealth Nations.
A 90,000 miles Journey that will take 269-days to travel around the Commonwealth Nations and to HRM the Queen of Great Britain for the opening ceremony.
President Maada Bio received the Queen’s Baton Relay from the Ministry of Sports Ibrahim Nyelenkeh at the Presidential lodge in Freetown.
The Baton Relay climaxed at the Mayor’s Office at the Freetown City Administrative Complex, where lots of Sporting disciplines perform light sessions respectively.
The Mayor of Freetown in her Statement said;
“I feel honor to have received they Queens Baton from England, these has replay show we are a sporting Nations, and she encourage all Sporting disciplines to continue their hard work and represents Sierra Leone well”.
President of different sporting associations were parts of the Baton Relay which will end on Sunday at Benguma Military barracks.
