The Network Movement for Justice and Development (NMJD) has organized a day training session for Chiefdom Development Committees in the Country. The training was held in Imperi Chiefdom, Moyamba District.
The joint reflection training and experience sharing workshop for Chiefdom Development Committees (C.D.Cs) targeted three Districts in the Country where mining exercise is said to be carried out. Bonthe, Moyamba and Kono Districts were brought together to brainstorm on the Chiefdom Development Agreements (CDA) project Management , Reporting and Public Accountability in the affected Mining Communities in the Country.
The day session is viewed as important by many because since the beginning of 2020, and with the emergence of COVID-19 in March, 2020 till date, there had been no official discussion between the Network Movement for Justice and Development (NMJD) Agreement implementation process across Bonthe, Moyamba and Kono Districts.
Some of the topics discussed were reflection on C.D.A implementation in 2020, presentation of the Draft CDA Model February 2014 on the CDA, project management among, other topics.
In an interview with the Chairman of the Chiefdom Development Committee, Tankoro Chiefdom, Kono District, Professor Alpha Kpetewama, said the training was timely and important for the smooth running of the Chiefdom Development Committees around the Country.
According to Professor Kpetewama, the training session served as an experience sharing exercise for all C.D.C members in the three Districts, noting that they have learnt a lot from each other. He thanked the Network Movement for Justice and Development for their initiative for bringing the entire CDCs together to have such deliberation and called on their continued support at all times.
