On January 1st, 2024, ASP Patricia Lombeh Kobba, Support Officer of the Pujehun Division, led her team in overseeing the release of twenty-six male prisoners on Presidential Pardon from the Pujehun Correctional Center. Emphasizing the importance of rehabilitation during their time at the Correctional Center, ASP Kobba encouraged the released individuals to exhibit positive behavior in their communities.
She specifically urged them to avoid harmful habits like kush smoking and stressed the significance of prioritizing their health while making responsible choices as they reintegrate into society. Manager Augustine Songu expressed gratitude to the police and other stakeholders present at the ceremony. He highlighted that after thorough consultation with the Pujehun Division, the release of twenty-six individuals was recommended based on their criminal records and exemplary conduct within the Correctional Center. Songu underscored the symbolic start of their new lives on New Year’s Day.
Notable attendees at the ceremony included the Crime Officer, Ops Officer, and O/C OSD of Pujehun Division, representatives from RSLAF, ONS, the media, and the Drivers Union Chairman. The event marked a significant milestone in the reintegration of these individuals into society, emphasizing rehabilitation and the second chances granted through Presidential Pardon.
