The Kono District National Election Watch (NEW) Coordinator says the early warning elections signs are visible in Kono district.
Ishmael Jalloh made the disclosure during a one day training organized by Search for Common Grounds on its project title “Sierra Leone Election Dialogue on the prevention of violence and peace building for civil society organizations, local authorities and the media” held at the new youth complex hall in Koidu city Kono District.
In his statement, the project manager Search for Common Ground Ibrahim Swaray thanked all those present for attending the said training.
He said Search for Common Ground is an international organization that has the project Sierra Leone election Dialogue Series that operates in Seven Districts across the country which include: Kono, Tonkolili, Kambia, Kenema, Falaba and Karina respectively.
He intimated the audience that in each of the district highlighted, they have local civil society organizations that roll out the roles and responsibilities of Search for Common Ground.
Ibrahimm Bockarie is the manager for the Community Mobilization Advocacy Network, he told this that the training was important and timely as he has learnt a lot and that the training`s knowledge will be used in all their operational areas. Similar sentiments were also expressed by Ansu Morison a Newspaper journalist that also attended the said training. He further admonished his colleague journalists to always embark on writing peace stories as peace is the road map to sustainable development.
