SLFA President Babadi Kamara paid a maiden courtesy visit to Leone Rock Metal Group on Thursday to thank the company for its continued support to the country’s football development and to officially present the newly constituted Men’s Premier League Board.
Accompanied by the Acting General Secretary Ing. Mohammed Benson Bawoh, the FA president officially presented the newly constituted Men’s Premier League Board to Leone Rock’s management. The delegation was warmly received by Chief Technical Officer Salim Sillah, who reaffirmed the company’s commitment to football development.
Leone Rock Metal Group has been the headline sponsor of the men’s topflight league for the previous two seasons, having played a pivotal role in sustained investment and revitalizing the nation’s top-flight league, initially contributing $80,000 for 2023/24, the highest in the league’s history at the time, and increasing that support to $150,000 for 2024/25 the highest ever in the league’s entire history.
In his address, President Babadi Kamara commended Leone Rock for its exemplary corporate leadership and enduring partnership, describing the company as “a cornerstone in Sierra Leone’s football transformation.” He emphasized that such collaborations are vital in building a robust football ecosystem capable of delivering long-term success and national pride.
President Babadi Kamara remarked, “Leone Rock continues to thrive as a successful company because there is peace and stability in our country, a peace that football helps to sustain. Football remains one of the strongest unifying forces in any nation. Without it, many of our young boys and girls who are now playing the game could easily be drawn into drugs or forced into unwanted and unplanned migration.”
He further underscored that Leone Rock’s continued investment in football extends far beyond sponsorship, it represents a deep commitment to peace, youth empowerment, and national development.
The country’s FA president further noted that the newly presented Men’s Premier League Board will collaborate closely with both local and international stakeholders to enhance the league’s structure, visibility, and competitiveness, ensuring that Sierra Leone football continues to progress on all fronts.
The visit concluded on a inspiring note, with both the SLFA and Leone Rock Metal Group reaffirming their shared vision of deepening their partnership to inspire young talents, promote unity, and elevate the standard of football across the nation, particularly within the men’s top-tier league, which Leone Rock proudly supports as headline sponsor.
