The Inspector General of Police, William Faya Sellu has deemed it fit to deploy Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Fatmata Susan Kamara to the Masaika division in the northwest region to serve as the Local Unit Commander (LUC).

Having served in the police force for over three decades, the new LUC was the Regional Coordinator of the Family Support Unit (FSU) in Bo where she performed extremely well-securing convictions in that part of the country. While in Bo, she was able to use professionalism to win the minds of the people thereby reducing the crime rate there. She embraced robust community policing there and has promised to replicate her good method of policing in her new post.

She informed this medium that community policing is a tool she is going to use to make the place peaceful. ‘I will call the community stakeholders to a meeting not only to introduce myself to them as the LUC in charge but to explain to them the significance of community policing and how it will help in providing security for the people,” she said, adding that with smooth community, police partnership, the crime rate in the region will drastically reduce for the good of the people living there.

She was promoted to her current position sometime last year and was deployed to the southern region to take over the FSU. Women in Bo, including Martha Swarray, have told this medium that the officer would be missed and remembered for the roles she played in protecting other marriages.
