On Sunday, April 13, 2025, the Women’s Wing of New Harvest Global Ministries in Kono District celebrated their annual Thanksgiving service at the New Harvest Central House of Gathering on Gbensegumbu Street in Koidu City. This year’s service, themed “Our Year of Divine Favour,” followed a 21-day prayer and fasting period.
During the service, Madam Lilian Tumbay, a member of the New Harvest Global Ministries Lebanon branch in Kono District, delivered the sermon. She began by expressing her gratitude to the leadership of New Harvest Global Ministries Kono District, especially her colleagues, for entrusting her with the responsibility to preach during the service.
Madam Tumbay emphasized that the women of New Harvest Global Ministries Kono District are not ordinary women but rather strong, industrious, purposeful, and virtuous women for Christ. She defined divine favor as pure, unmerited blessings from God and highlighted its importance in the lives of believers. According to her, divine favor can only be unlocked through faith, a relationship with God through prayer, and obedience to His commandments.
She encouraged the women present to be cheerful givers, emphasizing that giving is a way of demonstrating God’s love. She quoted, “Christians should demonstrate God’s love through giving and serving as each other’s keeper.” Madam Tumbay also cited the story of Esther from the Bible as an example of a woman whom God favoured, noting that with God’s favour, nothing is impossible.
The service featured various activities, including song contributions, the pinning of loved ones, and a “Women of the Year” competition, which was held between three houses: Hannah, Favour, and Ruth. The competition ended in a tie between the Hannah and Favour houses.
The Thanksgiving service was co-chaired by the Chairman of the Kono District New Harvest Global Ministries Management Team, P.J. Alpha, and the Management Team Administrator, Joseph Kallie Jr.
