The newly appointed General Manager of the Radisson Blu Mammy Yoko Hotel, Sebiastien Bes, on Wednesday, 19th January, 2022, paid a courtesy visit on the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Professor Joseph Aruna Lawrence Kamara, and the Director General, Mohamed Fuaad Daboh, the NASSIT Headquarters at Walpole Street in Freetown.
In his statement, the Chairman of the Board of the West African Holdings Limited who accompanied the General Manager, Buffie Bailor, said that after a long time without a General Manager, the Board of Radisson Blu appointed the French-born Sebiastian Bes out of four outstanding candidates. He added that he had the moral authority to introduce him to NASSIT, being the majority shareholder of the hotel.
In his statement, the newly appointed General Manager, Sebiastian Bes, said that he was happy to be in Sierra Leone where he had seen one of the best beaches in the world. He disclosed that he had spent over Twenty-Five years in the hospitality industry, working in Mali, Chad, Djibouti, Dubai, Tanzania, among others. Mr. Bes expressed his appreciation for the location of the hotel but noted that a few upgrading needs to be done including the rooms, carpets, and other facilities.
Responding, the Director General of NASSIT, Mohamed Fuaad Daboh, described NASSIT as a pension scheme that provides social protection for its members upon the occurrence of any of the contingencies of old age, invalidity and death.
He explained that Radisson Blu was one of the investments of NASSIT for which the Trust was trying to acquire a freehold, adding that it was the legal right of Radisson Blu to appoint a General Manager.
The Director General explained that the NASSIT Board recently approved some injection of cash in the construction of the roof top of the hotel, and that he was happy to see how best they could work on other areas.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of NASSIT, Professor Joseph A.L. Kamara, said he was happy for the new General Manager and hoped to see a good working relationship between him and Chairman of the Board of the West African Holdings.
