Second Police Witness (PW2), Mohamed Difan nephew of the accuse person was in court to testify in a matter involving Bobson Momoh (accused person) before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Freetown Court No.2 to answer to one count of larceny.
According to the case file, in December, 2020 at No. 1 Spur Loop Wilberforce Freetown did steal a fiscal cash of eight million one hundred and five thousand Leones (Le 8,105,000/00), two wrist watches valued three hundred and fifty United States dollar ($350) equivalent to three million five hundred thousand Leones (Le 3,500,000/00) one Iphone 5 valued Two Million Five Hundred Thousand Leone (Le 2,500,000/00), one Sunny Picket Camera valued Three Million Leone (Le 3,000,000/00), one Tecno C7 Mobile phone valued one million five hundred thousand Leones (Le 1,5000/00) all to the valued of eighteen million six hundred and five thousand Leones (Le 18,605,000/00) property of Aritus Mabatu.
Testifying, PW2 said his uncle wife informed him that the accused (uncle) has encountered some problems at his place of work. He said few minute later, the aunt instructed him to go back home and secure all the stolen properties and keep them in a safe place, because police were planning to conduct house search at the house.
During cross examination, Defense Counsel A. Kanu asked: were you living together with the accused person and for how long? The witness said he has stayed with the accused person and wife for four years. Defense counsel asked: do you know his wife was a business woman and they saved money in their house? The witness said he has no clue.
The Defense Counsel also asked: were you sent to take some items at the accused person house? He said yes. Sergeant 10980 Newstead is prosecuting, while Lawyer A. Kanu represented the accused person. The matter has been adjourned to the 3rd May, 2021.
