Alex Mohamed Nalloh testified before Justice Alieu John Bosco at the High Court in Freetown on the 23rd February, 2021 in the matter involving the deceased Khadija Saccoh. Nalloh said he was residing with the deceased at the same address.
During cross examination, Lawyer Joseph A.K. Sesay questioned PW 12 (Alex Mohamed Nalloh) if he knew the decease and Mariama Sajoh Barrie and Ibrahim Bah, 1st and 2nd accused persons respectively. His response was in the affirmative.
The witness stated that that he is a pupil who has just written the WASSCE and that on the 17th June, 2020 he was in his apartment when he got a knock at his door. He said he came out and saw the second accused person and who told him that her mum is sick. He then dressed up, picked his phone and they went to the next apartment.
Nalloh, PW12 said he saw he saw the first accused lying down on the floor with the Khadija Saccoh was sitting in front of the first accused person. Nalloh said he and Ibrahim Bah, 2nd accused person went to the kitchen to boil water for the first accused person Mariama Sajoh Barrie as she was unwell. The witnesss stated that he later poured tea leaf and sugar in a cup and gave it to the first accused person.
According to PW 12, he later decided to call their house maid, Agnes Njajua to come and give assistance to the first accused person. Later in the afternoon I was called by the second accused person to cook rice as the second accused person had already cooked the sauce.
The witness further disclosed that in the evening he came back at their apartment and met them, including the Khadija Saccoh (now deceased) watching movie at their parlor.
“So I joined them and the second accused said Khadija Saccoh (the decease) doesn’t know how to dance and I concurred.”
Later the witness said he heard a crying voice, and he went and met the first accused person crying bitterly.
“I saw Khadija helpless in the hands of Agnes Njajua. So I went to make arrangement with a bike rider. We attempted to go to the 34 Military Hospital and later we end up at the Lumley Government Hospital. I was told that Khadija died at the Choithram Hospital.”
During cross examination, Defense lawyer Alhaji Mustapha Kamara, questioned PW 12 as to the time he normally conducted lesson for the decease. In response PW 12 answered for one hour thirty minute. He further said that the lesson place is an open place.
The Counsel further questioned first accused questioned PW 12, how many months he took at the CID. In response PW 12 answered one month.
Counsel for second accused person lawyer Teddy Koroma, questioned PW 12 in a cross examination whether as a private teacher he was very close to Khadija Saccoh. In response PW 12 answered in the affirmative. The defense Lawyers for the accused person continued to ask if Khadija Saccoh and the second accused person were close, he also said yes.
The matter was adjourned to the 25th February, 2021.
