In an effort to strengthen ties and enhance youth development initiatives, the National Youth Commission (NAYCOM), led by Commissioner Joseph Maada Lahai, recently paid a high-level courtesy visit to the Ministry of Youth Affairs in Freetown.
During the meeting, NAYCOM’s Board Chairman, Saidu Alie Lakkoh, expressed sincere appreciation to the Minister of Youth for his ongoing support of the Commission’s progress. He emphasized the importance of continued collaboration and hoped the engagement would lead to strategic partnerships focused on sustainability and youth empowerment.
Commissioner Lahai echoed the Chairman’s sentiments, expressing NAYCOM’s eagerness to work with the Ministry on nationwide initiatives that promote youth engagement and leadership. He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to unity and decisive action in uplifting young people across Sierra Leone.
In response, the Honorable Minister of Youth Affairs, Ibrahim Sannoh, commended NAYCOM’s commitment and welcomed future collaborations. He underscored the need for joint programs that not only equip young people with the necessary skills but also inspire them to become agents of change in building a greener, more inclusive future.
The visit, described by both parties as highly productive, reflects a shared vision for youth leadership. With the Ministry, NAYCOM, and the Youth Service working together, they aim to create platforms that empower young people to lead, serve, and make an impact both locally and globally.
