The National Public Procurement Authority (NPPA) has announced the introduction of an online Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) Portal for the national registration of suppliers, contractors, and consultants seeking to do business with the Government of Sierra Leone.

The announcement was made through Public Notice Circular No. 02 of 2025, issued as part of ongoing government efforts to modernise the public procurement system and enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability.

According to the notice, all registration, renewal, and updating of supplier records will now be conducted exclusively through the NPPA e-GP Portal, in line with Regulation 10(2) of the Public Procurement Regulations, 2020. The portal will be officially accessible to the public from Monday, 5 January 2026, via the NPPA website.

The Authority stated that the new system applies to all suppliers, contractors, and consultants involved in public procurement activities nationwide, as well as to all procuring entities. Only businesses that are duly registered and validly listed on the e-GP Portal will be eligible to participate in government procurement processes.

The NPPA further reminded stakeholders that registration certificates are valid for one year, from 1 January to 31 December, and must be renewed annually to maintain eligibility.

Key requirements for online registration include the submission of scanned PDF copies of the following documents including a valid Corporate Affairs Registration Certificate, National Revenue Authority (NRA) Tax Clearance Certificate, NASSIT Clearance Certificate and Local Council Licence, where applicable.

The registration fee for national businesses is Le1,000, while foreign businesses are required to pay a fee of US$200.

The Authority encouraged businesses seeking further information or assistance to visit the NPPA headquarters at Tower Hill in Freetown, or any of its regional offices in Bo, Kenema, and Makeni.
