Fifty-four-year-old Amara Salia, also known as Pelitp, a staff member at the National Protected Area Authority (NPAA), has made another appearance before Magistrate Mary Julian Gbloh at the Pademba Road Court No. 5 in Freetown. He faces four criminal charges, including conspiracy, causing grievous bodily harm with intent, wounding, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, contrary to Section 47 of the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861.
According to court documents, on Friday, 28th March 2025, at Car Wash, Kamayama, Lumley in the Western Area of Freetown, the accused allegedly conspired with other unknown individuals to commit grievous bodily harm.
Count Two alleges that on the same date and location, Salia intentionally caused grievous bodily harm to Abubakarr Turay. Count Three states that he maliciously wounded the same victim.
Count Four adds that he assaulted Mr. Turay in a manner that resulted in actual bodily harm.
When the charges were read in court, no plea was taken from the accused.
