The National Pentecostal Mission in Sierra Leone has held its 14th Biennial National Delegates Conference in Freetown.
The three days conference was officially opened on the 26th May, 2021 on it first day at the headquarters church on Fort Street, in commemoration of a new Dawn replacement of another Bishop and General Superintendent.
Theme for the delegate’s conference this year is “A New Dawn” taken in Isaiah verse 60:1 of the Old Testament in the Bible.
Delivery his keynote statement, the president of Council of Churches in Sierra Leone (CCSL), Reverend Henry T. A. Samuels congratulated the outgoing Bishop Tamba A. Koroma for his leadership and successes made so far in the Mission, especially in the area of expansion of education from pre-school to tertiary level and the massive infrastructural developments in all the Mission branches.
He extended special appreciation to the women for playing a vital role in these successes and achievement, and further thanked the outgoing Bishop for not becoming the “pass ar die” kind of leader.
Rev. Samuels encourage outgoing Bishop Tamba B. Koroma not to abandon the Mission but to always serve as an adviser.
“Three things is expected in the new dawn administration these are, live as children of the light, be wise, calm and committed to the service of God and not by status”, Rev. Samuel admonished.
He encouraged the successor to roll his sleeve and go for what he called gets a new dawn.
“It is time we let go of all our differences and focus on the major, while we leave the minor for God and to provide services as he wants”, Rev. Samuels advice.
He wished the new Bishop well in going through his leadership and advised him to seek and be guided in the Holy Spirit.
Ache Bishop Tamba Charles from the Catholic Mission thanked Bishop Tamba Koroma for lifting the banner of the National Pentecostal Mission and prayed that God continue to bless him (Tamba Koroma) with good health to enjoy the fruit of his endeavors.
Representatives and leaders from other churches witnessed the conference and made statements calling for peace and togetherness among members, and to give support to the new dawn.
The ceremony was chaired by Rev. Mary S. Kamara while the vote of thanks was delivered by the Deputy General Superintendent of the Mission, Reverend Benjamin B. Bangura.
