The National Home base side Leone Stars team has on 1st July 2022 trash Biafra Football club by (7-1) in a friendly encounter at the Football Academy in Kingtom.
The friendly encounter is part of their preparations ahead for the CHAN Qualifiers when they will later this month face Cape Verde Island in the CHAN Qualifiers, the teams continue to test their strengths and weaknesses as most of the players are currently on break because the Country top flights league has come to an end.
Francis Zappa Koroma the head coach of the national home base side Leone Stars team B “said the friendly match is a continuation of their projects to assess the ability of the players before making the final decision of twenty-five players ahead of the CHAN Competition.”
He added that they are also planning to travel to Liberia and get two more friendlies before their departure to Morocco to face their counterparts on Cape Verde Island in the Preliminary rounds of the qualifiers.
This is their fourth local friendlies match last Wednesday they held a 1 – 1 draw against the foreign-based based players at the Brima Attouga Mini Stadium
They engaged another BIAFRA FC a Nigerian team based in Sierra Leone in a friendly encounter.
BIAFRA FC coach Chinedu Offoh (Chinedu Collins) mentioned that the friendly match was very much important as it prepares them for subsequent competitions in Nigeria.
