The National Communications Authority (NatCA) has issued a directive to all Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to ensure that subscription validity periods, whether daily, weekly, or monthly, are strictly adhered to as advertised on December 9, 2024.

This announcement comes amidst rising consumer concerns over data usage and network reliability.

The directive emphasizes that data purchased by subscribers must remain usable for the full duration of the subscription period, as promised by service providers. Discussions on implementing a Fair Usage Policy (FUP), which could limit individual data usage, are ongoing.

NatCA has assured the public that they will be informed once these measures are finalized and implemented.

In response to recent network disruptions, NatCA has encouraged MNOs to compensate affected consumers. While this compensation process is being rolled out gradually, the Authority has called for public patience as these issues are addressed systematically.

In a move to enhance user experience, NatCA revealed that top-up bonuses for credit and data recharges are now available across all mobile networks.

This initiative aims to ease consumer frustration and boost satisfaction as the telecommunications industry works to improve service reliability.

NatCA’s management reiterated their commitment to ensuring consumer satisfaction and maintaining transparency in their efforts to regulate the telecommunications sector effectively.

The public is encouraged to stay informed and engaged as NatCA continues to work towards a fairer and more reliable telecommunications environment.
