The National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NaSSIT) has convened a meeting with over fifteen companies in pre-bidding session at a proposed site for the construction of NaSSIT district office in Moyamba.
The move according to report was to comply with procurement regulations to participate in the bidding process.
Speaking at the meeting, the General Manager in charge of Administration and Human Resource at NaSSIT Peter Jusu Kannah stated that in a bid to expand their coverage and to bring the scheme closer to members; the Director General Fuad Dabor promised to establish an office in the Moyamba District.
This according to him will help to address the challenges faced by their esteemed customers in the district. He noted that the visit was important to show the bidders the proposed construction site that would guide them in the preparation of their bills of quantity for the project.
Mr. Peter Kannah described Moyamba as a growing District with one of the biggest mining companies in the country, a university and a good number of government and private-sector employees that needed to be catered for.
On his part, the head of procurement at NaSSIT, Jonathan Juana Kamanda told the bidders that the pre-bidding meeting was one of the procurement processes, adding that, the process was still opened to other bidders that might be interested. He assured them that all questions and concerns would be duly addressed.
