The Director General of the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT), Mohamed Fuaad Daboh, on Thursday, 26 March 2026, paid an operational visit to the Grafton Spring Water Company in Grafton.
During his visit, Mr. Daboh expressed appreciation to the company’s management, staff, and owners for their significant investment in Sierra Leone and for the opportunity to engage with them at their worksite.
He explained that the visit forms part of his ongoing efforts to engage directly with employers and employees, understand their operational challenges, and strengthen partnerships between NASSIT and its key stakeholders. He emphasized that the Scheme is not merely a collector of contributions but also a guardian of employees’ livelihoods, dignity, and future.
Mr. Daboh further reminded the company that NASSIT is a statutory public trust mandated to provide income replacement for workers in the form of old-age, invalidity, and survivors’ benefits. He stressed the importance of ensuring that every worker in Sierra Leone can retire with dignity.
The Director General acknowledged the vital role of water in everyday life and national development and commended Grafton Spring Water Company for consistently meeting its obligations under the NASSIT Act. He emphasized that compliance is a legal requirement, not an option.
“The law requires all employers to register their employees and remit contributions no later than the 15th day of the following month,” he stated.
He also assured the company of his administration’s commitment to improving service delivery by making NASSIT services more accessible.
“I want to bring NASSIT to your doorstep and reduce the time and resources you spend traveling to our offices,” he added.
Responding on behalf of the company, Human Resource Manager and Head of Communication Patrick Banya expressed gratitude to the Director General and his team for the visit. He noted that the engagement went beyond regulatory oversight and reflected a genuine partnership.
“Your visit reinforces your organization’s commitment to effective service delivery and has addressed our employees’ concerns regarding their contributions,” he said.
Mr. Banya assured NASSIT that the company remains committed to full compliance and is ready to implement the improvements discussed during the visit.
The engagement concluded with a public education session, the issuance of biometric social security cards, and a guided tour of the facility by the Director General and the company’s management team.
