The National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) has successfully concluded a two-day intensive training session for enumerators in preparation for the nationwide feasibility assessment of the proposed Sierra Leone Community-Driven Development Project (SLCDD III). The project is supported by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), with counterpart funding from the Government of Sierra Leone.

The training brought together staff from NaCSA Headquarters and district offices for a structured programme designed to strengthen field readiness and ensure high-quality data collection across the seven targeted districts: Bo, Bonthe, Pujehun, Kenema, Kailahun, Falaba, and Kambia.

During the opening session, NaCSA Regional Coordinator–South, Madam Aminata Vandi, emphasized the significance of the feasibility study in guiding evidence-based project planning. The Programme Manager for SLCDD II, Momoh Juanah, highlighted the core objectives of the assessment and its potential contribution to community-driven development.

Senior Directors, along with the NaCSA Board Chairman, Mr. Mohamed Alie, commended the commitment of staff and stressed the critical role of accurate field data in designing effective interventions. The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager, Deen Tarawally, underscored the importance of precision in data collection and provided practical guidance on the use of the assessment survey tool.

Enumerators received hands-on training on ground rules, ethical standards, quality-assurance mechanisms, and data-collection techniques. Participants also engaged in group exercises to reinforce understanding and ensure consistency in field procedures.

With the training now completed, enumerators are set to be deployed to their respective districts to begin the field assessment. The two-day preparation has equipped them with the knowledge, confidence, and tools required to carry out their tasks with professionalism and accuracy.

This milestone marks a significant step in the rollout of SLCDD III, reaffirming NaCSA’s commitment to community participation, transparency, and inclusive development across Sierra Leone.
