Mysterious fire has over the weekend in Kono district engulfed an eight bedroom house, nine Million Leones liquid cash and household materials worth millions of Leones.
One of the affected tenants who preferred anonymity said that the mysterious fire broke took place at around 3:00Pm local time last weekend. The anonymous tenant maintained that whilst in her apartment she saw heavy smoke oozing out from among the other rooms and wasted no time but shouted for help.
Immediately, youths around the area intervened by breaking the walls of the rooms where the said fire started blazing in order to put it out, and pointed out that the said fire came from the room of her colleague tenant Komba Gondo who confessed to her that he was cursed by a woman after refusing to pay her money.
According to the anonymous tenant Komba Gondo’s confession stated that the swearing ceremony included his family members and all his belongings. Whilst thanking the youths at Kanawa Street in Koidu City for their swift intervention in putting out the said fire.
The tenant expressed dissatisfaction over the poor response of the National Fire Force Kono Branch, and called for government to intervene in meeting the challenges of the fire force in the district.
Meanwhile, the fire victims up to press time have appealed to the government of Sierra Leone and humanitarian organizations for help as all their belongings have gutted down by the reported fire incident.
The owner of the burnt house Sahr Bangai is poised to ascertain the root cause of the outbreak.
