My Development Trajectory Gives Competitive Edge Over APC-President Bio

In his walking visit to traditional authorities across the South-Eastern Region of Sierra Leone, President Julius Maada Bio told the Traditional Leaders that his multiple development trajectories have given a competitive edge over the All People’s Congress Party (APC) especially going into the 2023 general elections.

President Bio also decried the pulling down syndrome of the opposition about his travelling adding that, traveling is part of his job in order to undo the stigma and reputational damage of the country.

He assured the Traditional Leaders and Party Supporters that he has done tremendous image building of the country which has now caused the country to be highly respected at international level.

In his statement to party members in Kenema, Bo,  Moyamba, and Pujehun   Districts, President Bio intimated that  he is moving around  in order to interface with party members and thank them for their efforts made towards the voter registration process. He said that Voter registration should be treated with seriousness. He also encouraged the south-easterners to avail themselves for registration as they need to vote and make decisions of leadership. President Bio encouraged SLPP members to work together in order to develop the country as that would serve as a competitive edge over the APC party.

“Education is the only way to develop a nation which is the more reason I prioritized education. It is through education I want to show my appreciation for believing in me and voting me as your president. You all have realized that you voted for the right person, Sierra Leone is now respected at international level. It is just unfortunate that just after one year in governance, Covid-19 came and degenerated all the gains made across the globe”, he said.

 Updating President Bio and senior party members, Mohamed Ali the District Chairman for the party in Bo district who also doubles as the Resident Minister South, said they have embarked on massive voter registration and mobilization and sensitization in the District. He added that their effort is to ensure that they re-elect President Bio to State House.

 Mr. Ali outlined activities the party has embarked on since President Bio was elected in 2018.

District Chairman for Moyamba District, Smart Senesie said that the SLPP in Moyamba District has always proven to be staunch supporters of the party. Mr. Senesie added that the district has produced more leaders. He promised the President and other party stewards that Moyamba District has an important role in re-electing President Bio to State House next year with no runoff. Hinga Sandi also added that Moyamba District put resources together and involved all stakeholders in the District for the Voter Registration, and he was happy to report that they did very well in the registration process. He said that the SLPP is a family and whatever indifferences one has should forget about it and think about the future of SLPP and the country.

Chief Minister in his statement joined President Bio to acknowledge the efforts of the SLPP membership.

Amongst those who formed part of the entourage were; John Oponjo Benjamin, Dr. Prince Alex Harding, Desmond Pessima, Mohamed Rahman Swaray, Jimmy Batilo Songa among others. President is expected to replicate similar visit in Bonthe District.
