Legendary Sierra Leonean football  Musu Bangura, widely known as Musu Pele, is set to officially declare her candidacy for the position of Women’s Representative in the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) on May 25, 2025.

A household name in women’s football, Musu Pele is celebrated for her pivotal role in laying the foundation and advancing the growth of female football in Sierra Leone. Her unmatched passion and commitment to the game have earned her deep respect within the football community.

During her illustrious playing career, she served as captain of the Sierra Leone female national team, leading by example and inspiring a new generation of female footballers. Musu remains one of the most iconic and outstanding veteran players in the history of Sierra Leonean football.

Beyond the pitch, Musu has held several key roles within the SLFA. She served as Team Manager and Coordinator for the Female National Team, and was later employed by the FA as the Head of Technical for Female Football. She eventually resigned from her post for personal reasons.

Now, with her rich experience as a player and football administrator, Musu Pele is ready to take on a new leadership role to further empower women in the sport. Her upcoming declaration is seen as a significant moment for female football development in the country.
