58 year old Sulaiman Conteh made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Ross Road Court No.1 in Freetown on a count of Murder contrary to section 1 of the offences against the person Act 1861 as repealed and replaced by Section 1 (a) of the schedule of the abolition of the Death penalty Act 2002 Act No.6 of 2002.
According to the particulars of offence on Friday 14th July 2023 at No.6A Savage Street Wellington the western area in Freetown murdered Isha Saidu Hughes.
The accused person appeared in court wearing white morning gown seeing him Prison officers and others were in tears.
The accused person was not legally represented and the witnesses to the matter were presented.
The matter could not proceed due to the time and the emotional situation of the court, Magistrate Kekura refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional center in Freetown. Matter was adjourned to the 18th August 2023 for further hearing.
