The developmental-oriented Member of Parliament representing the people of Western Area Rural, specifically the Goderich community, Hon. Ibrahim Kabba, popularly known as “Small Borbor,” has generously donated Ten Million Leones in old currency notes for the construction of a security post at the Goderich Community Muslim Cemetery.

In an interview with the media, the MP emphasized that the project aims to enhance security, safety, and overall welfare at the cemetery in his community. He revealed that various activities, including sand mining and other social events, have been taking place in the cemetery. To address these issues, he decided to support the community in constructing a modern security post, which will act as a checkpoint to address challenges like unauthorized sand mining and the use of the cemetery as a road network by trucks.

The Imam of the Central Masjid, also serving as the chairman of the Muslim Cemetery, Alhaji Shiek Gibrill Turay, expressed gratitude for the MP’s support in community development. He highlighted the significance of the security post, stating that it will aid in record-keeping and data management for those laid to rest, ensuring documentation from hospitals for births and deaths. The Imam stressed that this would bring order to the burial process, preventing undocumented burials.

A community elder added that upon completion, the project would act as a deterrent to illegal activities occurring in the cemetery. The youth representatives echoed their appreciation for the MP’s initiative, praising him for undertaking a project that will benefit the people of Goderich.
