Haven got first-hand information about the fire outbreak in Jewahun village, Jewahun Section, Tonkia Chiefdom, Kenema District, the magnitude at which houses and properties were destroyed by the fire, and the need for emergency response remains glaring.
As such, Hon Ali Bayoh was left with no option but to offer a cash of le 2000 meant for the immediate upkeep of the affected persons particularly in the area of food, since all of their rice bands for last year’s farming were burnt to carpet level.
The Member of Parliament, initial strides he made after getting the report of the incident for the quick intervention of the appropriate quarters including Government and Humanitarian Organizations.
Hon. Bayoh pledged his unwavering commitment to ensuring that they get the required support that will make them forget the atrocities done by the fire.
Speaking on behalf of the chiefdom people, the chiefdom speaker who doubles as the chiefdom caretaker or Regent after the demised of their Paramount Chief, Mohamed Mustapha Mansary thanked and appreciated the Honorable for his gesture noting that, even without the money, just his physical presence was enough to indicate the love and respect he has for his people.
Chief Big M revealed that, aside from the efforts the Honorable is putting after the calamity on the people, the chiefdom authorities are fully aware of all the contributions he is making towards the development of the chiefdom since he was elected as a Member of Parliament.
