In an interview with the Moyamba District Medical Superintendent (DMS) Dr. Bajallah Foray, he disclosed that with support from the Moyamba District Council and other partners they have rehabilitated the hospital by giving a new face lift.
He added that the government hospital in the district can also boost of a canteen where medical staff, patients and care givers can have easy access to food when they are in need instead of going in search outside the hospital precincts.
He further said that the hospital administration with support from Moyamba district council has also constructed a blood bank that will help to preserve blood donated for patients, whiles adding that all equipment are intact at the constructed blood bank.
Doctor Foray continued that they have received wash equipment from UNICEF and other partners as a way of promoting wash activities adding that they are presently renovating all wash equipment.
When asked about sicknesses that people complain of in the district he disclosed that it is malaria, sexual transmitted infections and pressure which is common among old people.
He further said that in the case of malaria the ministry is always on awareness training on the use of treated bed nets.
He encouraged everyone to visit the hospital when they are sick and assured every one of his commitment.
Moyamba government hospital according to findings is one of the hospitals in the countryside with modern facilities. Many residents when talking to A-Z press revealed that with the support of the new direction administration, it is one of the decent and caring Health centers in the country.
