Mighty Blackpool Football Club has on 4th March 2022 defeated Mount Aureole at the Sierra Leone Police field to move nine positions in the ongoing Sierra Premier League table.
Donald Wellington opened the scoring in the 14 minutes of play for his side take lead and the goal was assisted by Ron Gandi Williams through a low cross in the 18 yard box. They held on to their lead until the second half with the valid goal lead.
After the recess, Mount Aureole SLIFA football club bounced back as they get the equalizing by Kandeh Turay who scored in the 52 minutes of the second half, both teams fought to get the winning goal, but Dauda Kamara’s penalty spot-kick was enough to seal the vital three points for Mighty Blackpool Football team.
According to Bala Kargbo, the head coach of Mighty Blackpool football club said the results is good for his side as they continue their good work towards the Premier League, though they played a strong side and it was not easy to secure a win against a side in top form and have picked up wins in their last matches.
Whilst the head coach of Mount Aureole SLIFA, Tamba Gorgon said the result was disappointing considering the way they lose the match, but they will bounce back in return of their next matches.
