Motorists in Court For Alleged Motorbike Theft

Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Ross Road Court No.3 in Freetown has ordered Abdul Kargbo a motorist to be remanded at the male correctional center for stealing a blue TVS motorbike with registration number ATM 405 valued at seven thousand leones (NLe7,000) entrusted to him by Idrissa Fofanah for commercial purpose.

He was charged with larceny contrary to 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.

It was alleged by the Inspector General of Police ((IGP) that the accused, sometime in March 2023 at Teneh Bah Road Kuntoloh Kissy Freetown, stole a blue motorbike valued at Nle7,000 entrusted to him by Idrissa Fofanah for commercial purpose belonging to Mariama Shaw.

Led in evidence by Sergeant 955 Macarthy P prosecution (PW )2, a bike rider, Idrissa Fofanah, residing at No 22 City in Freetown said he knows complaint, Mariama Shaw as his boss wife and recognised the accused as his friend.

Fofanah said on the15th March 2023. He said on the day in question, he was at home when the complainant handed over the aforesaid motorbike with registration number ATM 405 to the accused for commercial purpose. At this point, the police prosecutor Sergeant 9555 Dwight Marcathy sought for adjournment for him to have proper conference with his witness, which was granted Magistrate Daboh.

Magistrate Daboh denied the accused bail and remanded him at the Male Correctional Centre on Pademba Road in Freetown.
