Twenty-eight-year-old Woody Sandy, a motorbike rider, made his first appearance before Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura of Pademba Road Court No. 8 in Freetown on one count of fraudulent conversion, contrary to Section 20(1)(iv)(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of offence, on Friday, 21st November 2025, at New Road by Winners Chapel in the Western Area of Freetown, the accused allegedly fraudulently converted a blue and black TVS motorbike with registration number AVX 286, valued at Le15,000, which had been entrusted to him by Amarah Conteh for the purpose of operating it commercially.
When the charge was read and explained, no plea was taken.
Prosecutor Detective Police Constable 14898 Joseph Lamin Dumbuya served the accused with the relevant court documents.
Magistrate Samura refused bail, citing the seriousness of the offence, and ordered that the accused be remanded.
The matter was adjourned to 11th December 2025 for further hearing.
