Twenty-eight-year-old Salieu Sesay, a motorbike rider, made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown on a count of Fraudulent Conversion Contrary to Section 20 (i) (iv) (a) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of the offense, on Friday, 18th October 2024, at Malama Lumley, the western area in Freetown, Fraudulently converted to his own use or benefit certain property, that is, one TVS motorbike with registration number AUO 129 valued at ten thousand Leones (10,000), entrusted to him by Ibrahim Kamara for the purpose of safekeeping the said Ibrahim Kamara’s property.
No plea was taken when the charge was read and explained to the accused person.
The prosecutor, Inspector Sellu TAP, sought a short adjournment date because his witness was absent in court.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Kekura refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional facility in Freetown. The matter was adjourned to 20 November 2024.
