Dauda Kamara, a 24-year-old driver, on Thursday, July 3, 2025, made another appearance before Magistrate Mamakoh Saio Kallon at Pademba Road Court No. 3 in Freetown on one count of fraudulent conversion, contrary to Section 20(1)(iv)(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the charge sheet, on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Crabtown in the Western Area of Freetown, the accused allegedly fraudulently converted to his own use a TVS HLC 125 motorbike, black in colour with registration number AOZ 633, valued at Le 15,000. The motorbike was reportedly entrusted to him by Momodu Bangura for commercial use. The property remained under the ownership of Mr. Bangura.
When the charge was read and explained in court, no plea was taken from the accused.
Prosecuting officer Inspector T. Macfoy requested a short adjournment to allow the prosecution to present its next witness.
Magistrate Kallon denied bail and ordered that the accused be remanded at the Male Correctional Centre on Pademba Road in Freetown. The matter was adjourned to July 8, 2025, for further hearing.
