Thirty-four-year-old Kaifala Koroma, a motorbike rider, made another appearance before Magistrate Mamakoh Saio Kallon of Pademba Road court No.5 in Freetown on a count of Fraudulent conversion Contrary to Section 20 (1) (iv) (a) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of the offense on the 22nd September 2024 at PZ, the western area in Freetown, Fraudulently converted to his own use or benefit certain property, that is to say, one blue TVS Motorbike with registration number AQU 510 value eight thousand five hundred Leones(8,500) entrusted to him by PC222257 Sannoh A.J to ply it on commercial Basis.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person, he pleaded guilty
The prosecutor, Detective Police Constable Tambo E, told the Magistrate that there was a charge and no available records against the accused person.
The accused person was not legally represented, so he pleaded with the magistrate to temper justice with mercy on his behalf.
Due to the accused person’s plea mitigation, Magistrate Kallon sentenced him to thirty-six months imprisonment in the male correctional facility in Freetown.
