Fredric Davis has been convicted for an offence of sexual penetration of a child below the age of consent. He has been sentenced to 15years imprisonment at the Pademba Road Male Correctional Center.
He was arraigned in Court on one count of Sexual Penetration contrary to Section 19 Act No. 12 of 2012 before the Sexual Offences Model High Court presided over by the Honorable Justice Momoh Jah-Stevens.
Sentencing the convict after being found guilty based on the evidence adduced against him, the Judge said he is sentencing the convict because of his wicked act.
He noted that he convicted slept with the victim’s mother and the victim as well and impregnated her. This led the victim to drop out of school and therefore deserved the maximum sentence of fifteen years imprisonment as stated in the Act.
The convict prior to his sentence, pleaded for mercy stating that it was the work of the devil and promised not to go that path anyone, but to no avail as the evidence against him were overwhelming that warrant his sentence.
The matter was prosecuted by State Counsel J.B Kamara Esq. while the accused was represented by Lawyer Pious Sesay.
The court relied on the evidence adduced and includes the testimony of the 15 years Old victim, a team of detective Police Officers that investigated the matter at the Adonkia Police Station Godrich Freetown, the medical report and the statement of the accused during investigation,
