The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE), under the leadership of Minister Conrad Sackey, has commissioned two newly constructed classroom buildings for UBC Mission schools in Bo City. This initiative is part of President Julius Maada Bio’s ongoing efforts to enhance education nationwide.

The project addresses critical issues such as overcrowded classrooms and inadequate infrastructure, providing a modern and conducive learning environment. It aligns with the objectives of the Free Quality School Education program launched in 2018, which seeks to deliver equitable and quality education to children across Sierra Leone.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Minister Sackey reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transforming the educational landscape. He emphasized that education remains the cornerstone of national development, adding that the new facilities exemplify the administration’s dedication to fostering a supportive academic environment for students.

Rev. Emmanuel Farma, a representative of the UBC Mission schools, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the government for prioritizing education in the region. He noted that the additional classrooms would significantly reduce overcrowding, thereby enhancing the teaching and learning experience.

Parents and pupils also celebrated the milestone, highlighting the positive impact the improved infrastructure would have on their academic journey. Many praised the initiative as a step toward achieving equitable access to quality education throughout Sierra Leone.

The commissioning of these modern classroom buildings underscores the government’s continued efforts to fulfil its promise of providing accessible and quality education for all children in the country.
