The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS) has successfully concluded a three-day review session of its ongoing projects to assess progress and align efforts ahead of the National Steering Committee Meeting.
Held at the Ministry’s Conference Room, the mid-year review brought together ministry leaders and implementing partners to evaluate the implementation status of projects from January to June 2025. The session served as a crucial checkpoint to measure project achievements and identify areas requiring improvement.
In his address to the participants, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Henry Musa Kpaka, emphasized the importance of the review in ensuring projects remain on track. He explained that the session provided the Ministry with an opportunity to monitor project performance and urged project teams to enhance coordination and act promptly where necessary.
Dr. Kpaka also noted that the review was essential in preparing projects for the submission of their reports ahead of the upcoming National Steering Committee Meeting. The Committee, as the highest decision-making body, is responsible for approving the Annual Work Plan and Budget (AWPB) for all MAFS projects.
He encouraged all projects to collaborate and align their activities to avoid duplication of efforts. Dr. Kpaka stressed the need for cohesive planning to effectively support farmers and contribute to national food security and income generation.
During the session, each project presented its progress report, followed by discussions and the identification of key action points aimed at improving overall performance.
The review was attended by the two Deputy Ministers, senior MAFS officials, and representatives from key projects and partners, including FSRP, AVDP, SL-RAIC, SLARiS, SCaDeP, RRVCP, RFCIP, the President of NaFFSL, and other implementing bodies.
