The Grass Field community in Mile 13 has got its first mosque donated by a thirty-eight year old Sierra Leonean, Ms.Assiatu Serry who resides in the United States of America.
The Regional Chief Imam of the United Council of Imams, Peninsula Branch, Alhaji Mohamed Isaka Kamara, during the Opening Ceremony on Friday 13th May, 2022 called on young people to emulate the good example of the donor by placing premium on serving God Almighty and spending their resources to promote Islam. In 2019, she finally decided to start the project which has become fruitful, and emphasized that the masjid is not under her control or any family member stressing that the community owns the masjid.
