Swedish Superettan side Gais F.C has secured the signature of a Sierra Leonean Youngster Michael Kargbo on a Two years deal.
Kargbo scored 14 goals and provided 6 assists in 28 matches last season to help Värnamo promote to top flight football. He emerged as top scorer in the league.
“We have kept an eye on Michael for a while and saw that he really did well in Värnamo last season. He is a player who masters all three offensive positions, which is good for creating competition for places forward.
He is fast and strong, good in the box and can finish with both feet. We believe that he will fit in very well with us, even though he certainly needs to get used to our game model”, Nicklas Karlström, Sports Director at GAIS, comments on the new acquisition.
Kargbo 21 has his roots from Makeni Northern Sierra Leone. He has been playing football in Sweden since 2017, and has represented Eskilstuna City, AFC Eskilstuna, Assyriska FF and IFK Värnamo.
The new acquisition posted on his Facebook page @Michael Kargbo to confirm the transfer; “@gais_se thanks you for the trust in me and I’m really proud to be a gaisare”.
Michael will train with the A-Team on Monday, the club said.
The Sierra Leonean International is yet get Professional called up as he continued his great form internationally.
