Ibrahim Kalokoh, a staff Mercury company dealing with lottery at the East End Part of Freetown, has been duped ten million Leones from Moses Freeman the accused person by telling him that he will help him get Canadian Visa.
The accused on Tuesday 7th December 2021, appear before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown on a count of obtaining money by false pretenses contrary to Section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916. According to the charge statement, the accused on a date between 1st -31st August 2021, along Pademba Road, Freetown, with intent to defraud obtained the sum of ten million Leones from Ibrahim Kalokoh with the pretext that he will secure a Canadian Visa for him which is known to be false.
However, the accused is granted fifty million Leones bail with one surety in like sum, bail to be approved by the DAR, matter adjourned to the 22nd December 2021. Sergeant 9155 Dwight Macarty is Prosecuting the matter.
In another development, the Country Program Manager Aids Health Care, Miata Jamba Wai-Kaisamba dragged George Smart to court before Magistrate Sahr Kekura, for threatening and insulting her. The accused is charged with two counts of threatening language contrary to Section 3 (1) of the Public Order Act No. 46 of 1965 and Insulting Conduct Contrary to Section 3 (1) of the Public Order Act No 46 of 1965.
According to the charge sheet on count 1, the accused George Smart on Wednesday 28th July 2021, at No. 5 Carlton Carew Road, off Wilkinson road, Freetown, used threatening language against Miata Jambawai-Kaisamba with intent to provoke her to commit a breach of the peace.
Count 2 state that the accused on the same date and time used abusive language against Miata Jambawai-Kaisamba with intent to provoke her to commit a breach of the peace. The accused is on ten million Leones bail, matter adjourned to the 13th December 2021.
