Afro Fusion sensational Sierra Leonean singer popularly known as “Mellon Seven” with the natal name Jonathan Obai Fitzjohn has on Sunday the 21st February released a new song entitled: “Joborti”. He featured Sierra Leonean Superstars Diva, Rozzy Sokota.
The two Sierra Leonean teamed-up to release this hit track that has attracted more than 2,521 viewers rushing to have a feel of the song.
Jonathan Obai Fitzjohn was born to both Sierra Leonean parents and hails from a Mende/ Temne /Creole tribal background. He grew up with his immediate family in the Western Area of Freetown, Aberdeen to be specific.
He started his Primary School Education with the Murray Deen Preparatory School, and the International School Ltd. Secondary respectively.
He was able to successfully obtain his NPSE, BECE and IGCSE from these two Schools, and later headed to IPAM University where he completed his B.sc Degree in Business Administration in 2015. Upon completion, Mellon Seven finally had the chance to follow his dream of having a professional Music career.
He started to hit the Studios with the aim of building his craft in singing and song writing. During these periods, he was also working as Office Assistant in order to fund his cherished dream as much as he could.
In 2016, he was able to drop two mix tape track title “Love Me Now” and “4 in the morning” which he was able to feature one of KME’s finest “Blesz.”
This artist has benefited from the master stroke of producer Lord Mo to have sharpened his skills and risen in confidence to up his musical career.
In 2017 “Mellon Seven” had his first break through with a single and Official video titled “Body NA Quality.” During this period he was shortly managed by Figo Man Production (FMP), which helped to open more doors for him in the entertainment sector.
In 2018 December, his recognition grew and was nominated in the next rated act category at the National Entertainment Awards Ceremony (NEA 2018).
Following this, he dropped his second official single “Fallin 4U” with an official video for the Afro RNB Love song. He has also dropped two other singles titled “Sweet Salone” a song for Mama Salone and recently collaboration with 2018 and 2019 NEA best hip hop artist winner “Drizilk”. The song is titled “Kon Fu” and is certified club banger.
