GoodLuck Mansaray is an eight years old award-winning Hip Hop, Afro Pop artiste who started his musical career in Kabala Koinadugu district in 2018. He attended the Christian Reform Church (CRC) Primary School from class one (1) to two (2) and is presently in class five at the SOS Hermann Gmeiner primary and secondary schools at Lumley, Freetown.
Goodluck recorded his first song at the age of five titled ‘Bos Mi Balloon’ at Kabala, Koinadugu district which was a hit as so many children were able to resonate and dance to it. He rose to prominence in 2019 after releasing latest blockbuster mix tapes titled: GoodLuck freestyle and U bet?, which made him won the award for Best Young Artist in the National Entertainment Award (NEA).
Goodluck is widely ascribed for being the first and youngest rapper at his age to do a rap song in the country. He is well known for his stage performance and has over the years performed with big artistes including LAJ at various events across the country. His extremely tight lyrics and mind-blowing stage performances have won him accolades in the country’s music Industry. Goodluck is a fan of Sierra Leone music and has met with so many prominent rappers like Star Zee, Empress P, Kao Denero, Kracktwist and Samza to name a few who have been awe by his lyrics and performance.
Goodluck has performed in front of President Julius Maada Bio who was perplexed with his performance and showered him with praises describing him as a perfect example for child education in most of their meetings.
As a way of contributing in the fight against corona virus in the country, he did a song titled ‘Corona Try Go’ wherein he sensitized and informed people on the precautionary measure of COVID-19 a song that was played in major radio stations and television in the country.
Goodluck currently lives in Freetown where he is being thoroughly trained and couched in his musical career by his mentor and song writer Genius Maj who is also an artiste.
Goodluck Mansaray better known as Goodluck was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone to parents Foday BL Mansaray and Marian Koroma. His father is a retired long distance running athlete who relocated with his family to his home town in Kabala, Koinadugu District.
Speaking to AZ GoodLuck said ‘I love reading and playing football as my hobby’ he said as an artiste he wants to flag the country’s flag to the world.
