Media Guru Joseph Turay Complements Govt`S FQE Programme

The donated  school learning materials by a true son of the soil, Joseph Turay has benefited over one thousand primary school pupils in dozens of schools ; and they include; Mabanda, Bayandi, Kamasasa, Kabasa, Kabailor, Kakonteh, Kamagbew, Mile 14, Sella Kafta, Kukuna Dee and among other villages in Constituency 058, Tonko Limba Chiefdom, Kambia District.

As a way of complementing the government`s free and quality education programme, the donation of school learning materials was one of the many development interventions of Joseph Turay in the chiefdom as an educationist, media guru and publisher of the Public Review Newspaper in Sierra Leone.

The distribution of the learning materials was climaxed with a training programme conducted by him for over one hundred secondary school pupils on news reporting and presentation; and launched the Tonko Limba Secondary School News Association.

Joseph Turay is a humanitarian who believes that education is the key to the next generation of leaders in the Chiefdom and the country at large.

During the distributions of the learning materials, Joseph Turay uncovered the key challenges facing the schools in Tonko Limba Chiefdom includes: lack of WASH facilities, furniture, many unapproved teachers and among others.

He further underscored the significance of the News Association launched by him to promote freedom of expression of the pupils and report on happenings in communities in the chiefdom.

Joseph Turay called on other indigenes of Tonko to come onboard and help to address the problems affecting education in the chiefdom.

The school pupils, parents and teachers expressed their overwhelming thanks and appreciation to the donor for the kind gestures.
