Masoner And Business Men Sentenced 3 Years Imprisonment For Larceny

Thirty years old Fadiru Kallon a Masoner, thirty-five years old Foray Janneh a business man and twenty-three years old Hassan Sesay a business man made another appearance before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on four count charges to wit Conspiracy contrary to law, Larceny And two count ranging from Receiving stolen goods.

According to the particulars of offence on Sunday 9th April 2023 at No.3 Kamanda Drive off peninsular Road Adonkia the western area in Freetown conspired together and with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit Larceny.

 On count two the first accused person Fadiru Kallon on the above date and place stole one hundred Cartoons Wall tiles, one hundred Cartoons floor tiles, five single doors, three half inch security doors, fifteen pieces of stairs case tiles, one pink Toliet seat and other items all to the total sum of one hundred and twenty two thousand five hundred Leones(122,500) Property of complainant Samuel Arthur Carol Pratt.

 On count three and four the second and third accused persons did receive four Cartoons Wall tiles, three Toliet seats and other items all to the total sum of seventeen thousand eight hundred and sixty Leones(17,860) property of the said complainant.

On their first appearance the charges were read and explained to the accused persons they pleaded not guilty

The prosecution led three witnesses, the complainant, the formal witness and the factual witness.

The accused persons were unrepresented by legal representative.

They pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy.

In Delivering his Ruling, Magistrate Gogra said having looked at the entire evidence the prosecution has led sufficient evidence against the accused person and they’re found guilty on the offences charged.

He therefore sentenced the first accused person to thirty six months imprisonment.

The second and third accused persons to six months imprisonment to the male facility in Freetown or pay a fine of one thousand new Leones to the state Inspector Mohamed Kamara prosecute the matter
