Thirty-four-year-old Alimamy Kamara, a mason, has made another appearance before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah at Pademba Road Court No. 1, where he was charged with fraudulent conversion, contrary to Section 20(1)(iv)(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of the offence, on 17 August 2025 at Kowa Drive, Motormeh, Regent Village, in the Mountain Rural District, Western Area, Freetown, the accused allegedly fraudulently converted to his own use or benefit a blue Star TVS motorcycle, bearing registration number AYE 463, valued at thirty-six thousand leones (Le 36,000). The motorcycle was entrusted to him by Ibrahim Gbandia for the purpose of operating it on a commercial basis.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused, no plea was taken.
The prosecutor, DPC 17649 Brima Kargbo, informed the court that the defendant had been served with all relevant documents.
Magistrate Jah refused bail, citing the seriousness of the offence. The matter was adjourned to 20 February 2026, and the accused was remanded in custody.
