Emmanuel Kargbo, a 22-year-old mason, was remanded in custody after appearing before Magistrate Mamakoh Saio Kallon at Pademba Road Court No. 3 in Freetown on a charge of larceny in a dwelling house, contrary to Section 13(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to court documents, on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Comium Pole, Hill Top, Hill Station, in the Mountain Rural District of the Western Area, the accused allegedly entered the dwelling house of Ibrahim Tucker with intent to steal. He is accused of stealing one Tecno Android mobile phone valued at Le 2,500, the property of the said Ibrahim Tucker.
When the charge was read and explained, no plea was taken from the accused.
Prosecutor Cpl. 12090 Zainab Bangura requested a short adjournment to lead her next witness.
Due to the seriousness of the offence, Magistrate Kallon refused bail and ordered that the accused be remanded at the Male Correctional Facility on Pademba Road. The matter was adjourned to July 8, 2025, for further hearing.
