The Marampa Mines Women’s Premier League Board has officially revealed the Champions Trophy and cash prizes for the upcoming 2025/2026 season, celebrating the league’s commitment to women’s football in Sierra Leone.

During a press conference, Chairperson Hon. Madam Rachael Pissema described the trophy as a unique design that embodies the strength and development of the Women’s Premier League. She confirmed that the trophy was generously donated by football philanthropist DIDI Abu, based in the United States and the Technical Director of East End Lions FC.

“We are thrilled to receive such a beautifully designed trophy from someone dedicated to transforming women’s football in Sierra Leone,” said Hon. Pissema.

In response to questions, she emphasized the board’s goal of fostering a more competitive national league that showcases women’s football and talent on an international stage.

For this season, the winner will take home five hundred thousand Leones (500,000), while the runner-up will receive four hundred thousand Leones (400,000). Hon. Pissema noted that the increase in prize money reflects the efforts of the Sierra Leone Football Association’s Executive Committee and is a significant improvement compared to last season.

She urged female clubs to uphold professionalism and adhere to the rules and regulations governing the sport. Regarding safety measures, she assured that the board is diligently working to ensure the league’s integrity and professionalism, striving to create the best league experience in Sierra Leone.
