Alhaji Dumbuya, an unemployed man, made his first appearance before Magistrate Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown on a charge of housebreaking and larceny.
According to the charge statement, on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Turay Compound, New England Ville, Freetown, Dumbuya broke into the house of Sallay Kamara with the intent to steal. He stole five gallons of rubber, each valued at forty Leones, totalling two hundred Leones, along with cash totalling two thousand five hundred Leones, making the total value of the stolen property two thousand seven hundred Leones.
When the charge was read to Dumbuya, he pleaded guilty.
Magistrate Kekura sentenced him to one year in prison, or to pay a fine of one thousand Leones. Dumbuya agreed to pay the fine in open court.
