Alhaji Dumbuya, an unemployed man, made his first appearance before Magistrate Kekura at Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown, facing one count of housebreaking and larceny.
According to the charge, on Thursday, 6th March 2025, at Turay Compound, New England Village, Freetown, with the intent to steal, Dumbuya allegedly broke into the house of Sallay Kamara and stole five gallons of rubber, each valued at forty Leones, totaling two hundred Leones, as well as fiscal cash amounting to two thousand five hundred Leones. The total value of the stolen property was two thousand seven hundred Leones, all belonging to Sallay Kamara.
When the charge was read to the accused, he pleaded guilty.
Magistrate Kekura sentenced Dumbuya to one year in prison or to pay the sum of one thousand Leones, which the accused agreed to pay in open court.
